What is Receiptly?
Receiptly is a receipt scanner and expense tracker for Android and iPhone, made by CodeXcess. You scan a receipt or upload an image or PDF, and the app reads it automatically, then organises it into a searchable, filterable record of your spending.
How does Receiptly scan receipts?
Tap scan and your phone's own document scanner (Google's on Android, Apple's on iPhone) finds the edges of the receipt and crops it. Receiptly then reads it with Google Gemini AI, or with Google ML Kit OCR on your device, and fills in the merchant, date, amount, currency, category and payment method. The amount is what you actually paid, after vouchers and rounding. Every field stays editable.
Is Receiptly free to use?
Yes. The Free plan includes 100 MB of storage and 10 AI scans a month, and when the AI scans run out Receiptly keeps scanning with on-device OCR. In Malaysia, Plus is RM 0.99 a month, Pro is RM 4.99 and Premium is RM 49.99, with cheaper annual options. Elsewhere the app shows your own store's price in your local currency. See Plans.
Is Receiptly available on iPhone?
Yes. Receiptly is on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android. Sign in with the same account on either and your receipts and Groups are there.
Can I add receipts from my banking app or email?
Yes. In your banking app, email or an online store, tap Share on the receipt and choose Receiptly. The image or PDF opens on the review screen, ready to save. Sharing several at once is a bulk upload, available on Pro and Premium.
Does Receiptly handle different currencies?
Yes. Each receipt keeps its original amount and currency, and Receiptly also shows it in your default currency using the exchange rate for the receipt's date, for example USD 9 ≈ MYR 36. Dashboard totals include every receipt in your default currency, and a Group has its own currency so every member sees the same totals.
Can I share receipts with my family or team?
Yes. Groups let you share one receipt space with a partner, family or team. A Premium subscriber creates the Group and invites people by email, and members on any plan can join. Groups include roles and show who added or last edited each receipt.
Can I export my receipts?
Yes. On Pro and Premium you can export receipt details to Excel for accounting or tax purposes, and download your original receipt files as a ZIP archive.
Is my receipt data private and secure?
Your receipts are stored in a private Wasabi cloud bucket in Singapore, encrypted in transit and at rest, and reachable only through time-limited links. The app's requests are only accepted from a genuine copy of Receiptly. We do not sell your data. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
Can I delete my account and all my data?
Yes, from Settings → Delete account. After you confirm, the account is scheduled for deletion in 30 days. Until then the app shows a screen where you can cancel and keep everything, and you get a reminder 7 days and 1 day before. After 30 days your receipts, images, profile and login are permanently erased. Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription, so cancel that in Google Play or the App Store.
